Paramore are the cover stars of AP’s Most Anticipated Music of 2012 issue, which is on sale everywhere in early December. Annie Zaleski traveled to New York City to interview the band in September—and here’s an exclusive excerpt from the resulting story. For all of the info about AP #282, go right here!

Paramore’s frequent use of the word “fun” [during AP’s interview] is heartening, especially because the band admit that being in Paramore hasn’t always been fun in previous years.

“We’ve always enjoyed what we do,” guitarist Taylor York says, “but we’d watch other bands on tour with us and they would just be having a blast. They’d be in vans, all cramming in one hotel room. Every day, they were just stoked to be there. In my head, I’m like, ‘Either they’re just really mistaken’”—at this, everybody laughs—“‘or we’re missing something. I don’t think it’s possible to have that much fun.’”

“I felt so bad for the longest time, because we made being in a band look like it wasn’t fun,” adds frontwoman Hayley Williams. “In my opinion. Other people might not have thought that, but you imagine all the interviews we did where it was just like, ‘Uhhh...’

“It’s important for young people to know how much fun it is to make music with your friends,” she continues. “You have to fight for it, of course, but it’s the biggest gift to play music for people, and it’s a gift even if you’re not playing for anybody. It’s fun, and I’m excited. We’re stoked to have that spirit revolving around this [forthcoming] album and just relax into the process.”

The members of Paramore admit keeping things low-key—and being selective about their promotional obligations—helped them get through the year. But paradoxically, getting back on the road and being around their fans was good for morale. York says Paramore started rediscovering how much they enjoy being in a band together while touring this year, especially when they traveled to South America in February. “This winter, when Zac and Josh left, we went through a really hard time,” he says. “I think we had to go through that. We all love each other, but we had to come together so closely that we really rediscovered how much we really love each other—and how much we love playing music. We had to go through that to realize what we had.”

“For a while, it felt like music was our only escape, like soundcheck or shows,” says bassist Jeremy Davis. “And it never was long enough; you didn’t really want to leave soundcheck, because that’s whenever nothing else mattered. We’ve always had a blast onstage, had fun with the fans and the interaction and everything. But it seems like so much more fun [now], I have no idea why. What used to not be fun, we find joy in—and find joy in each other. It shows in every way, even onstage. Now we’re bouncing all over the place and smiling. If you mess up, it’s like, ‘Whatever, it’s music.’”

2011 has been a very liberating year: of course there's been the Arab spring in Africa and the Middle East - toppling dictatorships in Libya and Egypt and causing unrest elsewhere. But this wasn't deemed enough to warrant this year's Nobel Peace Prize in the eyes of the awards panel. No, this year's grand acolade was shared between Ellen Jonhson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakel Karman for their non-violent struggle for women's rights around the world.

Well it seems that the rock world has followed suit, with women dominating the headlines and charts during 2011 - from Lady Gaga's unprecedented winnings at this year's MTV Awards to Jessie J's BBC Sound Poll triumph and PJ Harvey's Mercury Prize delight. That's not even mentioning Lana Del Rey, the lady that's been on everyone's lips these past couple of months.
We've also seen great new albums from veteran femmes such as Bjork, comeback tours from the likes of Patti Smith and new and emerging rock chicks in the mold of Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino.

Below we look at the most diverse, trendsetting and shocking women in rock and pop at the moment.

Paramore Covers Alternative Press

Paramore, fronted by the button-cute, flame-haired spitfire Hayley Williams, cover the January 2012 / Most Anticipated of 2012 issue of the youth music bible Alternative Press.

With members having bolted in between the band’s last album and now, Williams and her mates battled through the drama and are now in a better place and looking to have some fun. Because after all, isn’t that what band-dom is about? In the accompanying story, Paramore speak about how they found a way to have fun again.“I felt so bad for the longest time, because we made being in a band look like it wasn’t fun,” Williams mused. “In my opinion. Other people might not have thought that, but you imagine all the interviews we did where it was just like, ‘Uhhh…’” Every band goes through these phases.

Paramore start Singles Club

Paramore will release three new singles before the end of the year.

The 'Brick by Boring Brick' rockers have set up their own Singles Club through their website to release the new tracks, which - apart from the track 'Monster' from the 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' soundtrack - are their first material since the departure of guitarist and drummer Zac and Josh Farrow in December last year.A statement on their website reads: "This club is our way of getting these songs directly to the Paramore family.

"As most of you already know, when we went into the studio at the beginning of the year to record 'Monster' we also recorded a few other songs.

"By now, you might've heard an acoustic version of 'In the Mourning' on Youtube and you might've caught a clip of 'Renegade' (sic).

"There is one, however, that should be completely brand-spankin' new to all of you and that one, dear friends, is entitled 'Hello Cold World' (sic)."

A full version of 'Renegade' is available now, while 'Hello Cold World' will be released on November 7 and 'In The Mourning', which come out on December 5.

The first 3,500 members of the singles club will also be presented with a box set of all three singles as 7" records at the end of the year.

Singer Hayley Williams - who is left in the band with Jeremy Davis and Taylor York - has also said they are working on their fourth album, which they plan to release next year.

She said in June: "We're about to start writing the next album. We're getting down to the core of refreshing our band. We're hoping to have the record out early next year, so hopefully we'll start to record it at the end of 2011."

My first was REM. It was white, loose, and had a chequerboard on the front. I bought it, secretly, from the back pages of NME; I ran for the postman every morning, before my mother did, to check if it had arrived. The day it came, I ran upstairs, locked the door and put it on. Fifteen years old, there I was in my first band T-shirt – and just like that, I felt part of something.

The band T-shirt is one of music's most potent totems. Pull one over your head and it points out an allegiance, however confident or timid the wearer. Six months ago, Ian Wade and I started a blog, My Band T-Shirt, to tell their stories: me beginning with an Orbital top given to me by a boyfriend, Ian following with a tale of living in a Blur top for a year.Inviting others to post stories, we were staggered by the emotions bundled up in them: people gave birth, lived and died in the shadow of their screenprint; life's rich tapestry revealed itself through these scraps of cotton.

Band T-shirts first appeared 50 or so years ago. Names of groups started popping up on children's clothes in the mid-60s, an extension of the trend for comic book T-shirts in Mad magazine. The Beatles and the Dave Clark Five were early adopters, two bands that understood merchandising. Then came the hippy phenomenon of tie-dye with a logo slapped on top. Johan Kugelberg, author of Vintage Rock T-Shirts, doesn't put their success down to the power of music, however. "What broke band T-shirts was mass distribution, just like everything else."

Paramore knows how to keep their fans charged up: By releasing new music even without a new album. ‘Renegade,’ the latest track to join the new Singles Club, is a peppy feel-good song that will undoubtedly get your blood pumping and your feet on the floor.

The band first premiered the new tuneage at NYC’s Terminal 5 back in September, but the studio version is just now seeing the light of day. Like all of Paramore’s tracks, ‘Renegade’ displays the beautiful-but-rigid vocal stylings of Hayley Williams, but brings a new element of self-satisfaction to the band’s enormous song collection. It’s familiar without being too familiar, if you catch our drift.“And when I get there, it won’t be far enough / I’m a renegade / It’s in my blood / If ever I get there, it won’t be fast enough / I’m a renegade / I always was,” Williams belts in the chorus of the electric new track, showing her signature sass.

Diehard fans should join Paramore’s Singles Club to get a first listen at the new singles before everyone else, in addition to new merch — but more fairweather fans will still be happy to know that the band is releasing a new album, in full, sometime in 2012. From what we’ve heard so far, we think it might be a good one.

Paramore's bassist Jeremy Davis has found his 'dream girl."

Davis, 26, got married on Friday to British TV host and actress Kathryn Camsey.

"Today I married my dream girl and couldn't be any happier. I love you, Kathryn!" he posted on Paramore's official website where he also posted a picture of himself kissing Camsey on the cheek, with "married 9.30.11" reading behind them.

According to Us Weekly, at the intimate ceremony, Paramore's front woman Hayley Williams served as Camsey's bridesmaid.Overall, Davis called his wedding was the 'best day' of his life.

"[Friday] was hands down the best day of my life!!" Davis Tweeted Saturday, according to the website. "Seriously everyone thanks for all the LOVE!!...[you're] all amazing!!"

While B.o.B turned "Airplanes" into a smash hit, Lupe Fiasco had originally cut his own track using the now-ubiquitous hook by Paramore's Hayley Williams -- it has just leaked online and you can hear it now (via Some Kind of Awesome).

Hear Lupe Fiasco's version of "Airplanes (feat. Hayley Williams)"

Lupe's demo, which was intended for his album Lasers, doesn't differ too radically from Bobby Ray's version: Williams' vocal contributions are exactly the same, and the symphonic, piano-powered instrumentation is intact. Still, it's interesting to hear the lyrical differences: Lupe tells a story of two lovers who are surviving an apocalyptic nightmare, while B.o.B uses the track as a springboard for rapping about his sudden rise to success.

This isn't the first time Fiasco, who butted heads over the release of Lasers with his label Atlantic, has recorded demos that were later used by fellow artists on his label. The rapper originally cut a version of "Nothin' on You," later turned into a smash hit by B.o.B and Bruno Mars.

Paramore - William's Conflict Over Cosmo Cover

Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams had mixed feelings about posing for the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine after spending years trying to avoid the spotlight at the start of her career.

The rocker hesitated before agreeing to be the publication's cover girl because she hasn't always felt comfortable embracing her sexy side. But after donning a glamorous dress for her solo shoot, Williams insists she's embracing her "powerful female" role.

In a post on the band's blog, the star writes, "I wanna talk about the Cosmo cover... as much as I tell myself I don't care and I wear whatever I want... there will always be those moments when I'm at the check out line at (U.S. retailer) Target and I see some gorgeous person on the cover of any ol (sic) rag... and I'm like 'Ugh, is that how it's gotta be!?' only to realise that... next month, that girl on the cover is gonna be me. What a hypocrite right?!?!

"Noooo. Here's the thing. My #1 (number one) goal when the band began was to make myself invisible... I've turned down a lot of magazine covers. I specifically remember turning down Blender mag when I turned 19. No one ever knew.

It never made people focus on me any less... So this time I'm taking a different approach. All three of us in Paramore have our own roles. And finally I will accept mine. I'm going to be okay with being a 'powerful female'. I'm going to use that role to make a difference."

The singer admits the experience was liberating, and she hopes the cover will inspire her fans to feel good about themselves, too.

She adds, "I'm hoping that the more a magazine will take a chance on a girl like me, the more a girl will have a frickin chance in hell to be unique, powerful, strong in her weaknesses, confident in her flaws."

Paramore Spill Details On Mystery Studio Session

Hayley Williams of Paramore tweeted hints that the four tracks they recorded this month weren't set for an album or EP, but would all be released. So what are they for?

We all love news from the studio. When Paramore singer Hayley Williams recently tweeted about heading back to the studio, our response was that they could be preparing for a new release, perhaps as demo recordings or even final album tracks.

But Twitter has since revealed more specific details about the purpose of the studio session. Yesterday, Hayley tweeted that she was doing final vocal takes on the current batch of songs:

"Last time I'll be in the vocal booth til it's time to make a real full length @paramore album. But these songs should tie you over til then!" She then told This Is Hell frontman Travis Reilly that they had recorded "just 4 random songs we wrote. We are gonna release all of em but not as an EP", raising questions over what format the band plan to release the new tracks.

Should we expect a set of download-only singles? Perhaps a couple are already earmarked for film soundtracks? There's no indication for now, but Hayley is clearly happy with the result:

"Listened to some of the new songs in the car on the way home! So happy!! Such a creative and totally inspiring week and a half. Wanna say thanks so much to our fans for keeping us motivated the last few months... we can't wait to share some new music with you".

Paramore singer Hayley Williams has revealed that she, guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis are recording new material this week (beginning March 21).

Williams tweeted the news from Twitter.com/yelyahwilliams, explaining that the trio were working on the songs in Los Angeles.

"Just got a call from @itstayloryall [York]," she wrote. "He and @schzimmydeanie [Davis] just touched down in LA! We're recording a couple new songs this week!"The new songs will be the first the band have recorded since the departure of founder members Josh and Zac Farro last December.

The band debuted a new song, 'In The Mourning', in February live in Brazil.

We make no secret of the fact that we want to be Paramore’s Hayley Williams, as we reckon she is quite possibly one of the coolest girls around.

Now her amazingness is getting a nod of appreciation from elsewhere in the music biz as Hayley has appeared on hip hop star’s B.o.B’s track Airplanes (Part II) alongside Eminem – how cool is that?!

Hayley, bless her, isn’t doing that whole irritating playing it cool thing and pretending it’s not a big deal (we can’t stand that), she’s over the moon at being able to be on the same song as the rap “genius”!She told MTV News: “I was given the track a while ago when we were on tour. The guys and I all loved it. They told me I was crazy if I passed it up. I liked the part too much anyways, so of course I was down. I found out about Eminem getting on the track like a month ago. As if this song could get any better. He just slays me, he’s such a genius.”

The rock chick also revealed that she is actually a big hip hop fan. She said: “Whether our fans know it or not, I’m not sure, but (Paramore bassist) Jeremy and I have always been really into hip hop. I’m a big B.o.B fan. Got everything of his that I can lay my hands on… It means a lot to collaborate with a hip hop artist who is from Atlanta. We Southern gals love us some Southern gentlemen.”

We wonder if this could mean a new direction for Paramore’s next album… Though somehow we can’t quite see it!

Paramore Get To Work On New Album

Pop-punk sensation Paramore are in the studio working on their fourth album.

The band recently dumped (or lost, depending on who you believe) their guitarist and drummer brothers Josh and Zac Farro, but being a three-piece hasn’t stopped them getting back to work.

Paramore’s guitarist Taylor York recently tweeted, “Good afternoon (or whatever time of day it is wherever you may be). Day number 2 of recording. Super stoked. Sounding good! Yeahyeahyeahyeah.”

York is also tracking drums for the album, with singer Hayley Williams tweeting her amazement “He never told us how great he was!”

They’re working with Rob Cavallo, who produced their last album, 2009’s Brand New Eyes.

And they have also been added to the next Warped Tour in the US.

B.o.B and Hayley Williams Top U.K. Singles Chart

Paramore front woman Hayley Williams has claimed her first U.K. number one single her collaboration with rapper B.o.B has climbed to the top spot in the rundown.

"Airplanes" entered the chart at number 23 seven weeks ago but has slowly been moving up the list, reaching third place last week.

The track has now topped the chart, while Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP's "We No Speak Americano" moved up to second position and Eminem's track with Rihanna, "Love the Way You Lie", dropped from number one to the third slot. Katy Perry's collaboration with Snoop Dogg, "CaliforniaGurls", took fourth place, while Professor Green rounded out the top five with his Lily Allen duet "Just Be Good to Green".
In the British album chart Eminem returned to the top with "Recovery", after Kylie Minogue's "Aphrodite" pushed the rapper from the number one spot last week.

The Australian pop star is now in second place, while Eliza Doolittle scored the highest debut with her self-titled record "Eliza Doolittle". Plan B's "The Defamation of Strickland Banks" and Lady GaGa's "The Fame" were also in the top five albums.

The group is about to head off on yet another cross-country trek, as their headlining gig on the annual Honda Civic Tour kicks off next Friday, July 23, at the Raleigh Boutique Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina (they'll be joined by Tegan and Sara, New Found Glory and Kadawatha). Unfortunately, few people have ever heard of vision therapy. It is the best kept secret in eye care. The few people who know anything about it think it is the Bates Method. But Bates is outdated. This method only focus on the eye muscles. Today, we know, in addition, vision therapy works by retraining the way the brain processes visual imagery. It is more like visual biofeedback than vision callisthenics. Using today's methods, we get better, more permanent results than Bates did. Today's vision therapy helps treat many vision-impairing eye conditions. Here are some of the tips you can consider to treat your eye conditions.

1. Traumatic Brain Injury

Some people who sustain head injuries in auto or other accidents largely recover, except that they experience blurred or double vision. They are often told they have to live with it, but vision therapy can often help them see better.

2. Athletic Performance

Keep your eye on the ball is standard advice in baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball and many other sports. The problem is that sometimes even world-class athletes can't do it well enough to remain competitive. With the help of vision therapy, they can. In a study, vision therapy was conducted on a group of professional tennis players. Lights were flashed at them and time how long it takes them to respond. At first it may take them one-tenth a second. But after a while, they start responding in one one-hundredth of a second, ten times faster. The difference between a tenth and a hundredth of a second may not sound like much, but when you are playing a professional tennis, it is the difference between seeing the ball leave your opponent's racquet and not seeing it until it is already on your side of the court.

3. Balance

Good vision is critical for good balance because vision, our dominant sense, provides the brain with a great deal of information about the body's position. A group of 20 male and female students were tested on their balance and then trained them in Eyerobics, a visual-skills training program that uses vision therapy exercises to improve depth perception, peripheral vision, reaction time and spatial judgement. After Eyerobics training, the researchers retested the participant's balance and found significant improvement.

4. Crossed Eyes, Lazy Eyes And Binocular Disorder

In addition to causing cosmetic problems ' the eyes look funny' these disorders interfere with reading and close-focus work and may lead to blindness of the weaker eye. They are also surprisingly common. According to a report in the Journal of the American Optometric Association, about 5 percent of schoolchildren have strabismic eyes, and up to 8 percent have some degree of amblyopia. Each year in United States, the National Society to Prevent Blindness estimates 127,000 new diagnoses of amblyopia. Six months of vision therapy produces substantial, long-lasting improvements of these conditions in about 75 percent of cases.

5. Learning Disabilities

Many children diagnosed with learning disabilities or dyslexia does not really have them. They often have learning-related vision problems, and vision therapy can help them â€“ if they are diagnosed and treated by a behavioural optometrist. Unfortunately, many are not. In a study, with three children, two age eight and one ten, who had severe problems with reading. One had been diagnosed as dyslexic. After two months of vision therapy, the childrenâ€™s reading abilities improved dramatically

6. Focusing Problems

Normal eyes hold objects in focus and automatically refocus when they shift from one object to another that is closer or farther away. People with focusing problems cannot do this, and their constant struggle to keep their eyes focused leads to chronic eyes stress that often causes headaches, fatigue, double or blurry vision and a burning sensation in the eyes. In a study, 96 people with focusing problems were treated with vision therapy. Fifty-three percent were cured. Symptoms were significantly reduced, though not eliminated, in 43 percent. Only 4 percent showed no benefit.

7. Jerking Eye

This condition interferes with smooth eye movement, causing the eyes to jerk from point to point. It impairs reading ability and anything else that requires fluid eye movements. Vision therapy usually can cure ocular-motor problems.

Another myth is that reading books at night or watching the television at night can also ruin your eyes. This is also not true and has yet to be scientifically proven. However because of your eyes not getting enough light it may strain your eyes but in no way will it ruin your vision.
So what exactly is the reason for the less than 20/20 vision? Most likely is the shape of your eye. For people who have a natural 20/20 vision, their eyes are perfectly shaped like a ball. People who have less than perfect eyes are because their eyes aren't shaped round but more oval like.

Nearsightedness is what most teenagers have who need to wear contacts or glasses. Nearsightedness is when your eyes can not properly focus on objects that are far away which can be a big problem as it conflicts with some activities such as enjoying a movie at the theaters or even to everyday actions such as driving. What causes nearsightedness is when their eyes are a little longer than usual. Because of the extra length it causes the light to hit the retina indirectly that it blurs the person's vision.
